Are you the envious type? Has jealousy ruined happy moments in your life? Are you the type to give the silent treatment or accuse with sarcastic remarks? I am, at least to one of those listed. Jealousy is a very strong emotion that can destroy relationships. How do you handle this matter? I must admit, now that I think back on all the times where I was jealous over something, I would suddenly become non-social and say things in a tone of voice i'd never use normally. All this must change, if it doesn't, it will lead to a very unhealthy habit and ultimately, I will suffer the consequences. I read a brief Wiki on ways to stop being jealous, and it makes alot of sense. I think I will attempt to satisfy these goals. I suggest anyone who has these same feelings to give this a read. 5 minutes of your time can save you a relationship that may last a lifetime...
In the words of One Republic: It's too late to apologize.
Here is an excerpt to entice you to read more:
Bite your tongue. When you feel jealousy taking over, don't react in a destructive way. Don't accuse, don't give the silent treatment, don't roll your eyes, and don't show any signs of displeasure. Try to do the opposite of what a jealous person would do. If a friend is going to spend time with someone else, for example, recommend a good movie or restaurant. If your partner is talking to someone else, leave them be. Do what a completely trusting person would do in your shoes, even if it makes you feel crazy. Jealous behavior can bring any kind of relationship to its knees, so nip it in the bud.Source:
